Elimination of contaminants from petroleum wastewater by inverse fluidization technique

The paper investigates the dynamic behaviour of Inverse Fluidized Bed (IFB) for treatment petroleum wastewater using adsorbents date seed activated carbon (DSAC) and commercial coconut shell (CCAC). fluidization is downward flow technique, where density particles are less compared to liquid density. IFB wasexperimentally validated by analysing chemical oxygen demand (COD) removalefficiency, total dissolved solids (TDS) suspended (TSS) from with variations time interval, dosage effect adsorbent size. Findings this study reveals that maximumCOD reduction at 92%, TDS 86% TSS 84% has been determined (DSAC)and COD 85% 83% 80% evaluated adsorption column seedsbecomes saturated in 60-min continuous 0.00236m size, 210gms carbon, overall removal capacity (Qexp) on seeds 671.33 mg/g.
